Inspiration
The Elisha Armchair was inspired by intricate designs for an armchair and side chair drawn by an anonymous British artist,[AB11.1][BE11.2][MB11.3] and now in The Met collection. The designs offer a rare glimpse into the practical craft of Georgian furniture-making. Annotated with precise measurements and tufted upholstery details, they speak to the meticulous planning that underpinned the 18th century’s most elegant domestic interiors.
