Delicate engravings adorn the lid, adding dimension and authenticity while maintaining a clean, contemporary silhouette.
Inspiration
This piece is based on a mid-19th-century incense box from Japan, crafted during the Meiji period (1868–1912). The original, part of The Met collection, features intricately overlapped chrysanthemums, and was used to store incense. Eichholtz’s interpretation brings this object into the modern home with quiet dignity.
