Everything must be securable
What is not secured moves. Common methods include floor bolting, Velcro straps under the frame, or bolts in pre-prepared points. For furniture selection, this means a piece needs a construction that allows for attachment, such as a continuous frame or a base. Wobbly four-legged pieces without a stretcher are unsuitable. For interior outfitting, this is usually prepared by the shipyard; for retrofits, it is the first question.
Salt, UV, and Humidity
On deck, the conditions are harsher than on any coast: constant salt air, full sun, spray. Unprotected metals corrode, see stainless steel, and indoor textiles will not last a season there.
